Prosecutors in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality have approved the arrest of a knife-wielding woman who injured 14 children at the gate of a kindergarten in Banan District on Friday morning, which means she can now be formally charged.

The suspect was identified as a 39-year-old Chongqing resident. The case is currently under investigation and the motive of the assailant remains unknown.
