As Syria's bloody civil war drags on, accusations of crimes and brutality have proliferated on all sides of the conflict. Last month, Assad's government made hotly contested claims of a chlorine gas attack by rebels in Aleppo. But it wasn't the first time banned chemical agents were allegedly used as weapons. Earlier in the year, evidence of a separate chlorine attack drew a powerful international response.
