Automobile problems remained the top issue on Chinese consumers' complaint list last year, a report showed.

This is the second year that after-sales and quality problems concerning automobiles and auto parts reported the largest number of consumer complaints, according to a report released by the China Consumer Association.

The association received 762,247 consumer complaints, some 30 percent of which concerned after-sales issues followed by quality problems.

Automobiles and auto parts made up 27,456 of the complaints in 2018, down by about 6,600 from 2017.

China is the world's largest automobile market. Annual sales amounted to 22.4 million in 2018, down 5.8 percent year on year, while new energy vehicles reported robust growth, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed.

Communications products, apparel, food and shoes were also major fields that saw complaints, the report revealed.
