The annual Geminid meteor shower lit up the sky in northeast China on December 14. The volume of meteors could reach up to 100 per hour at its peak at 2 a.m.. Geminid, Quadrantid and Parsed meteor showers are known as three major meteor showers in the northern hemisphere. From December 4 to December 17 is the most active period of the Geminid meteor shower. The best time to observe the Geminid meteor shower is from the night of December 14 to early morning December 15.
