CGTN's parent company China Media Group will present a grand television gala called "We Are All Dream Chasers" on Saturday to commemorate the centenary of the May 4th Movement.
One hundred years ago, students in Beijing led nationwide protests against the then government, when it failed to respond after Western powers transferred Chinese territories held by Germany to Japan after World War I. The May 4th movement is widely seen as the beginning of new and enlightened thought in China. And many events are being held to mark this year's milestone anniversary.
The gala's theme is to demonstrate the spirit of Chinese young people.
What makes it different this time, however, are faces from other continents who all speak fluent Chinese.

One overseas student from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies said: "I think Chinese characters are very beautiful, the stretches, the lines, like paintings, just eye-catching."
And another one from Heilongjiang University said: "Chinese is getting more and more popular today. Many foreigners speak Chinese. I'm crazy about China. I love calligraphy. I like Chinese people and I like communicating with them. What I sang on the stage is part of 'The Analects of Confucius'. I've learned it, so I know what I'm singing."
Dancing, a cappella, martial arts as well as ethnic performances, are all expected to show the audience the charm of traditional Chinese culture, as well as the achievement of cross-cultural exchanges in recent years.
