WBA featherweight champion Xu Can to face challenger Shun Kubo on May 26

WBA featherweight world champion Xu Can of China will face top contender Shun Kubo of Japan on May 26 in his first title defense, Max Power Promotions, who represent Xu, announced on Friday afternoon in Beijing.
25-year-old Xu, China's only current boxing world champion, chose to hold this bout in his hometown Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province in China.
Kubo is four years older than Xu and ranks in Japan's top-10 and with a fighting record of 13 wins, one loss and no draws with nine KOs. He is taller than Xu and fights with a southpaw stance, meaning he will pose a tough fight for the young champion.
