In the latest installment of “By the Hand of the Ten” with Diego Armando Maradona, the former Argentina captain and coach is joined by ex-France striker David Trezeguet, who lifted both the World Cup and Euro Championship trophies with Les Bleus in 1998 and 2000 respectively.
As this year’s tournament has seen dominant performances from the European teams while the South Americans have struggled, the two former forwards looked into why the South American teams faltered.
The 1986 World Cup-winning captain discussed the rise of the Europeans and their supremacy in world football. He also spoke at length on the why the South American sides have struggled to defeat European teams.
Maradona has given a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis on the two finalists France and Croatia, and said that organization has been a key for both teams in Russia so far.
