Reading with anchors: A page of William Shakespeare – Episode 10

April 23 marks World Book Day, an annual event
designated by UNESCO to promote reading, publishing, and copyright.
This year, anchors from the China Media Group will take you on a journey
through the exquisite works of Shakespeare to explore the beauty of
literature and language.
In the 10th episode, our
special guest Chris Boobier reads "The Tragedy of King Lear," Act 3, Scene 2. The play follows King Lear's gradual descent into madness after he disposes of his kingdom, giving bequests to two of his three daughters based on their flattery of him, bringing tragic consequences for all.
Chris Boobier is the
Head of the Chevening Awards Program at the British Embassy in Beijing –
the UK Government's flagship scholarship scheme for future global
leaders.
