At least 50 people are dead due to landslides and flooding triggered by a tropical cyclone in the Philippines, while 11 others remain missing, disaster officials told media on Sunday night.
The tropical depression, named Usman, made landfall in Borongan, Eastern Samar on Saturday, dropping heavy rain over parts of the Philippines over the weekend.
It left the country on Sunday afternoon after being downgraded to a low pressure area.
Government forecasters said that heavy rain would continue over the next 24 hours in the northern Philippines.
More than 22,000 people fled their homes ahead of the storm, which destroyed rice and corn crops and left some roads and bridges inaccessible, according to officials.
