In today’s China, with its goal of building a moderately prosperous society by 2020, reforming healthcare and improving education are two of the main priorities.
The process of addressing society’s needs is driven by the Communist Party of China, the CPC, so it is natural to ask how the Party seeks to implement its people-oriented policies.
In other words, what does, or can, the Party do in healthcare and education reform that differs from what other mechanisms of governance may do?
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has given a systematic explanation of how the Party leadership should be strengthened in a series of major issues in education, and specified the current situations and tasks, goals and principles, paths and means, strategies and tactics, institutions and mechanisms of this stage of education reform.

One way to press ahead with the reform is through strengthening Party building.
The CPC has played a vital role in bringing China into a modern society, and it is equally important for today's younger generation to bear that in mind.
Hence, the policies and institutions of Chinese politics need to be well-explained in the process of the Party's organizational building.
By doing this, the teachers’ patriotism and love for the Party will be enhanced, and then through their teaching, this will naturally be passed down to their students.
Therefore, just as the spring rain nurtures the earth, they will also naturally inspire the students’ love for the country and the Party.
In this new era of China, subjects such as poverty alleviation, healthcare and education are all of great concern to the people.
Healthcare reform is a challenging issue for many other countries in the world, and is one of China’s most complicated reforms in recent years, as it directly touches so much of the society.

Development at a grassroots level, in particular, is fraught with even greater difficulties.
It calls for fairness and justice to build the system, which further requires top-down innovation and superior design.
Only the CPC has the organizational leadership required to advance reform in a country with such complicated national conditions as China.
In achieving all the goals, Party building is one of the most important tasks for the CPC.
According to those who work for the Party at iFlytek, a non-public IT firm, attempting to build the Communist Party’s presence in the private sector could promote private business interests rather than those of the Party’s leadership.
Until now, the number of CPC members at iFlytek has grown from 30 to over 1,000, and they play a critical role in these private companies.
To meet people’s increasing needs for a better life and delivering on that longing is not only a selection of the means of China’s development, but more of a political decision, reflecting the CPC’s adherence to the mass line and the governing philosophy placing people at the core.
