A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia's Irian Jaya at a depth of 61.1km, the U.S. Geological Survey reported on Sunday.
No tsunami alert has been issued and there were no immediate reports of casualties and damage.
The quake struck about 144km south-southwest of the tropical island of Jayapura, the capital of the country's Irian Jaya Province at around 9:42 a.m. local time.
