China’s electronic information manufacturing continues to expand in 2018

Despite the complicated domestic and international environment for China's electronic information manufacturing industry in 2018, it has maintained a high-quality and steady growth over the past year and continues to support China's economic and social development, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
China's electronic information manufacturing industry's designated scale increased 13.1 percent in added value compare to last year, with an export delivery value increase of 9.8% year-on-year, and the industry's main business income increased 9%, according to statistics released by MIIT Saturday this week.
Last year, fixed-asset investment in electronic information manufacturing industry increased by 16.6%, higher than the overall manufacturing industry investment growth.
Among the increase, communication equipment manufacturing industry showed a 13.8% growth in added value. However, the communication equipment industry's key product, mobile phone's output dropped 4.1%, with smartphone dropped 0.6 percent.
Electronic components added value saw a 13.2% growth year-on-year. The sector recorded 10.9 percent in total revenue growth, with 20.6 percent of the growth in profits.
Electronic device manufacturing industry saw a 14.5% growth in added value, and 7% growth in export delivery value increased by 7%. The key product of the industry integrated circuit increased 9.7% in annual output.
In 2018, China's computer manufacturing increased 9.4% in export delivery value, and 9.5% in added value, among the industry's key products. The annual output of microcomputer dropped 1% year-on-year, while laptop and tablet computer increased 0.6% and 2.8% respectively.
