Barcelona Terror Attack: Police kill prime suspect

The main suspect in last Thursday's Barcelona terrorist attack has been shot and killed by Spanish police. Younes Abouyaaqoub, wearing a fake explosive belt, was gunned down at about 40 kilometers west of Barcelona. CGTN's Dan Williams has more.
 
The end of a massive manhunt. Younes Abouyaaqoub, the 22-year-old Moroccan who police say carried out the terror attack in Barcelona - was shot and killed here. Police say the suspect was spotted in the town of Subirats about an hour's drive from Barcelona. Police say he was wearing a fake explosive belt. For Spanish authorities relief to finally get their man after a four-day search.
 
CARLES PUIGDEMONT CATALAN REGIONAL PRESIDENT "Just before five o'clock in the afternoon the Catalan police has shoot dead Younes Abouyaaqoub, driver of the van and direct perpetrator of the attack in Barcelona on Thursday causing the death of 14 people."
 
After he was gunned down, bomb disposal officers used a robot to examine the fake explosive vest. The mayor of San Sadurni said it was a resident who had recognized Abouyaaqoub and tipped off the authorities.

 Catalan police say the investigation is ongoing with reports police are searching for another man and a van.
