Jakarta plans to close 34 schools during the 2018 Asian Games in order to alleviate traffic jam, reported the Jakarta Post on July 26.
Of the 34 schools involved, nine are near venues of the Asian Games while the rest 25 are along the streets and roads between the venues and Asian Games Villages. Some 17,000 students from these schools will leave their classrooms and study at home.

According to the Jakarta Post, Governor Anies Baswedan announced his decision on July 26 and wanted Jakarta Education Agency to notify the schools so they can rearrange their teaching schedules.
“We'll ensure that there'll be no congestion on those routes. The policy only applies to these schools. Other schools that are not related to the Asian Games will conduct their activities as usual,” said the Governor.

The 2018 Asian Games will start on August 18 in Jakarta. Indonesia released the official website for ticket purchasing in late June and encouraged people to buy the ticket online.
Meanwhile, tickets can also be bought at the Asian Games counters at certain shopping malls or ticket offices of the venues when games happen.
However, things did not go well in some of the above ways. According to Global Times on Tuesday, the payment page of the official ticket selling website is in Indonesian only. The ticket-selling counter at Jakarta Pacific Place has not opened yet. Payment at the Indomaret in Jakarta had to be in cash.
