The Republic of Korea (ROK) held a meeting of liaison office chiefs with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday amid worries over a delay in some of their agreed-upon joint projects, Yonhap reported, citing the unification ministry.

Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung and his DPRK counterpart, Jon Jong-su, met at the liaison office in the DPRK's border town of Kaesong, according to the ministry.

"Since it is a regular meeting, I know that they are discussing things that the two Koreas need to have consultations on," Lee Eugene, deputy spokeswomen of the ROK ministry, told a press briefing.

The two sides pushed to hold a DPRK art troupe's performance in Seoul in October and conduct joint on-site railway inspections in the DPRK late last month, while neither of them have yet to be carried out, with no details on when they will take place.

On Thursday, ROK President Moon Jae-in said DPRK leader Kim Jong Un would soon visit Seoul, but he did not provide any other details about Kim's trip.

"A historic starting point for co-prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia is just ahead of us. This is an opportunity that came like a miracle. This is an opportunity that we should never miss," said Moon.

The two sides also ceased all "hostile acts" against each other the same day as part of efforts to implement the Pyongyang Declaration, which was signed by the leaders of the two countries.
