China welcomes the significant progress of peace talks between the warring parties in Yemen, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said on Friday.
China hopes that all parties concerned with the Yemen issue will earnestly implement the results of the peace talks, achieve the ceasefire and improve the humanitarian situation as soon as possible, Lu said.
China also hopes Yemen parties can accumulate mutual trust, to facilitate the political settlement through dialogue and negotiations, and restore the peace, stability and normal order of Yemen as soon as possible, Lu said.
Lu added that China supports the United Nations to continue to play a constructive role in the Yemen issue, and China is also willing to play a positive and constructive role in the political settlement of the Yemen issue.
According to the earlier report, Yemen's warring parties agreed to a ceasefire in the strategic Houthi-held port city of Hodeidah, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said at the close of peace talks in Sweden on Thursday.
