China's legislature passes law to 'protect honor of heroes'

China's top legislature the National People's Congress (NPC) unanimously passed a law to “protect the reputation and honor of heroes and martyrs”, according to Xinhua news agency on Friday afternoon.
According to Xinhua, the new law stipulates, “People who profane the deeds and spirit of the heroes as well as glorify wars or acts of invasion and disturb the social order will be punished under the law.”
The NPC Standing Committee met for its bimonthly session from Wednesday to Friday.
