Waleed, a researcher from Tunisia specializing in China affairs and China-Arab relations, has been working at People's Daily Online Arabic Edition for eight years. While living in China, he has been a witness to the meteoric rise of the country.
As Waleed has blended well with Chinese life and culture, he has felt major changes that are taking place in all spheres of life.
The giant leap in technology development, especially in artificial technology (AR), has changed people's lives for better.

Waleed has seen the rise of "green travel" in China, the market size of bike sharing has surged five times in the past three years.
"I go to the office by bus, but I sometimes use shared bikes. Today, you can see shared bikes everywhere in China. That's a convenient solution to the 'last mile' problem, like riding from the bus station to the office."

Waleed enjoys his life in China very much and he wants to introduce some of the Chinese policies to his hometown and the Arab world.
"I would like to make contributions on promoting the ties and mutual understanding between China and the Arab world," he said.
