China urged the US to carefully handle issues related to Taiwan by abiding by the one-China policy, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a regular news conference on Tuesday.
The remarks came after two US Navy warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait on Monday. Hua said China keeps a close eye on the route and has expressed concerns to the US side.
Taiwan is a part of China and the Taiwan issue, concerning China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, is the most important and sensitive issue in China-US relations, Hua said, urging the US to avoid harming the bilateral relations.
