China's Ding Junhui reached the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship after defeating Anthony McGill 13-4 on April 30 in Sheffield, the United Kindom. The Star of the East remains on course for his first title at the English venue and will fancy his chances following the elimination of Ronnie O'Sullivan and defending champion Mark Selby earlier in the tournament.
The world number three and 13-time ranking event winner was in tremendous form as he built an 8-0 lead after the first session on Sunday.
McGill battled impressively to reach 12-4, but Ding got over the line immediately on the resumption.

Ding missed a red in the 17th frame and handed McGill the chance to start an unlikely comeback, which he couldn't to do after failing to sink the black.
The 31-year-old star then seized the opportunity and cleared the table.
Ding wrapped up a short second session to advance to the last eight and set up an encounter with England's Barry Hawkins.
"Barry Hawkins is a tough player to beat so it's going to be a difficult match tomorrow. I think I need to play well to be the favorite and keep my form at the same level every day,” Ding said. “Otherwise, I can't be the favorite. I still need to improve and I need to stay focused. There's a long way to go and a lot of frames to play. The final is still far away. I'm just thinking about the next match, that makes it easier."
