A photo and video contest featuring tourism in China opened in New York City on Friday, aiming to introduce more distinctive Chinese cultural elements and tourist attractions to the rest of the world.
The contest, co-sponsored by the China National Tourist Office in New York and the North America Photography Association, is part of the U.S. 2019 China Tourism Cultural Week organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.
Participants across the globe are welcomed to submit their photographic works, either photos or videos that feature China's natural landscape and culture.
The date of submission is expected to start from May 16 and will close on June 15, according to the organizer.
Kuang Lin, chief of the China National Tourist Office in New York, said that the lens can help depict China's breathtaking scenery more vividly. He also hoped the event will serve as a platform to help people around the world appreciate the charm of Chinese culture and landscape via an immersive experience.
