Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Sunday that China will continue to support Mauritius in implementing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, during a meeting with Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
China and Mauritius should strengthen communication and continue to understand and support each other on major issues of common concern, said Xi.
Xi added that China will continue to support Mauritius to play an active role in regional and global affairs.
Jugnauth, for his part, said Xi's visit to Mauritius in July has injected new impetus into bilateral ties.
Jugnauth said Mauritius is undergoing economic transformation, and he hopes his country can learn from China's development experience.
He thanked China for taking into account the concerns of small island countries like Mauritius, during the preparation of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and hopes to build a closer China-Africa community with a shared future by attending the forum.
