Wild animals, including those under first- and second-class state protection in China, have flocked into China via the Sino-Mongolian border, hunting for food during the winter season.
In Xilingol League, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, wild animals can be seen everywhere, 50-60 species of which are under second-class state protection, such as argali sheep and goitered gazelle.

According to forest police, there are about 50 golden eagles, which are under first-class state protection.
Police from Sonid Right Banner Forest are closely watching the wild animals to avoid any poaching.
Fu Leilei, captain of the Criminal Detection Section of the Sonid Right Banner Forest Police, said, "We have kept a detailed account of the scope of their activities. We are closely cooperating with local herdsmen and frontier guards to protect them."
Local herdsmen living along the 18-kilometer-long border are well aware of wild animal protection. The enhanced safety measures and improved eco-environment has drawn more wild animals to China.
