Chinese President Xi Jinping met his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, who is in China for the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF). Xi expressed China's willingness to move forward cooperation with Egypt and he also voiced China's support for Egypt to follow a path of development that suits its own situation. Al-Sisi said Egypt is willing to closely facilitate the cooperation between its own development strategy and the BRI. He also said Egypt highly appreciates China's impartial stance on the Middle East issues and expects it to continue to play a constructive role.
