Iran's Rouhani begins official visit to Iraq

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has arrived in Iraq for an official visit, the first by an Iranian leader since 2013. Iraq and Iran are more than just neighbors. Iraq relies heavily on Iran for imported goods and other resources, such as energy supplies for its power stations. The timing of the visit adds to its significance as Washington withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran last year and hit Tehran with renewed sanctions, warning Baghdad to limit ties with its neighbor.
