Archaeologists in Egypt have uncovered a mummification workshop and a burial shaft at the dig site near the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt. The workshop may help reveal how the ancient Egyptians mummified their dead. Hundreds of small stone statues, jars, and vessels were found inside the burial shaft, as well as a rare mummy wearing a gilded face mask. From the writing and images, researchers can tell that the owner of the mask was a priest who served the ancient Egyptian goddess, Mut.
