Real Madrid have signed Luka Jovic after his outstanding season for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old Serbian forward agreed to a five-year deal with Madrid, to be completed upon a successful medical with the side.
"Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed on the transfer of Luka Jovic, subject to a medical," Real said in a statement.
"The player will be tied to the club for the next six seasons, until the 30th of June 2025," it added.
According to local media, Real Madrid are paying 60 million euros for the player with a bonus of five million euros, with 30 percent of the transfer fee going to the player's former club Benfica.
Jovic joined Frankfurt from Benfica initially on loan in 2017. He impressed under former coach Niko Kovac but really took off under his successor Adi Hutter last season. Jovic scored 17 times in 32 Bundesliga games last season, setting up eight more while adding 10 goals in the Europa League.
The signing is seen as a start for Real to overhaul the squad following a bitterly disappointing season, in which they finished third in La Liga and were knocked out of the Champions League in the last 16.
