Performers in cartoon costumes took part in a parade on Sunday at the 14th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF) in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province. The festival, kicked off on Thursday and will go on until next Tuesday, promises more than 50 activities with exhibitions, forums, and competitions. /VCG Photo
Animation is an international cultural language and a new medium for Chinese culture overseas. This year, exhibitors and companies from 85 countries and regions participated in the festival, including the famous Peppa Pig from the UK and Kumamon from Japan. /VCG Photo
The six-day CICAF was first held in 2005 with support from the central government and the provincial government. It has become one of the world’s largest trade fairs for animation films, cartoon publications and cartoon products. /VCG Photo
According to the organizers, the past 13 festivals received a total of 15 million visitors and a turnover of 12.85 million yuan (about 2 million US dollars). /VCG Photo
