Thousands of people threw water into the cold wintry air to make ice fog in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Saturday to celebrate Winter Solstice. Dongzhi, or Winter Solstice, is one of the 24 solar terms marking the 24 divisions of the solar year on the Chinese lunar calendar. When Winter Solstice comes, the coldest period of the year is around the corner.
