A famous pose that originates from Asia's toilets – the squat – has become a hit around the world though not everyone is willing to strike the knee-bending crouch.

While many countries have used squat toilets instead of seated ones, netizens have dubbed sitting on one's haunches the "Asian Squat."

Of course, it's not as easy as it looks.

According to Netizens, here are a few pointers to guide you to the perfect squat.

First, firmly plant both heels on the floor. That'll help you balance your body weight evenly spread across your feet.

As you squat your way down, your center of gravity should also remain low, improving your stability.

Some have joked that only a few Westerners can accomplish the Asian squat challenge. But there's no need to be discouraged, as around 20 percent of Asians can't make it all the way down either.

The squat involves all of the body's muscles.

Doctors say failing a squat can result from a short Achilles tendon, being overweight, being too tall, lacking the flexibility of the pelvis and a lack of squatting experience.
