China's Shenzhen to host 2019-2028 WTA events

After the conclusion of the fifth and final edition of the WTA Finals in Singapore, the honor of being the host city was officially handed over to Shenzhen.
The city in south China's Guangdong Province was officially announced as the host for the finals in 2019 until January 2028.

Present to celebrate the handover at the National Gallery in Singapore on Monday were officials and executives from Singapore, Shenzhen and the WTA as well as recent winner Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and doubles champions Timea Babos of Hungary and Kristina Mladenovic of France.
2019 will mark the 49th staging of the WTA Finals, and Shenzhen will be the 10th and second city in the Asia-Pacific to host the tournament.
