Rugby is the most popular sport in Papua New Guinea,  and its national sport. Locals are big fans of the rugby league in this developing country.

The sport is seen as an alternative to the tribal warfare in a land with a diverse culture. Papua New Guinea has a reputation for being the most passionate supporter of this game in the world.
