Shanghai, known as the birthplace of contemporary industry in China, is showcasing its development as a modern industrial hub.

Over 100 industrial locations in the city have opened on the following five tour routes each of which has a different theme:

Shipyard 1862

A 157-year-old shipyard in Shanghai, one of the oldest shipyards in China that symbolizes Shanghai's industrial civilization for over a century, has been renovated into a cultural and commercial complex to retain "industrial architectural relics" covering an area of 26,000 square meters.

Located in Lujiazui, now the thriving financial center of Shanghai, the former shipyard was transformed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who spent more than five years turning the plant into the MIFA 1862 art center.

Shanghai Radio Museum

The Shanghai Radio Museum has a collection of about 2,300 pieces, including radios, recorders, TV sets, receivers and transmitters, which were mainly donated by Zhang Minglv, a well-known collector in Shanghai.

The museum has an exhibition area of more than 1,000 square meters that highlights China's development in radio. There are many mechanical and multimedia interaction projects in the exhibition hall, such as the Morse code transmitter, to help the audience understand radio.

Shanghai Auto Museum

As the first museum focusing on automobiles in China, the Shanghai Auto Museum demonstrates the car industry's progress over 100 years.

The museum has three pavilions dedicated to history, collections and automotive exploration, as well as a zone for temporary exhibitions.

Shanghai Electric Lin'gang Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Base

Shanghai Electric Lin'gang Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Base focuses mainly on the development of advanced manufacturing. Visitors can learn about the electric development history of Shanghai, equipment industry and future development.

Shanghai Supercomputer Center

If you want to track the progress of human computer technology and China's independent research and development of supercomputers, the Shanghai Supercomputer Center is definitely a place to visit.

The experience center of Shanghai Supercomputer Center is divided into three exhibition areas -- a "Magic Cube" exhibition area, smart city film room and smart city interaction area. There are more than 10 exhibition items with nearly 100 exhibits.
