A newborn giant panda cub received nine stitches to close a cut on its head believed to have been caused by the mother. The female cub Run Jiu is Yuan Run’s firstborn. Yuan Run panicked upon seeing its offspring for the first time. Human caretakers are monitoring and feeding the cub as the mother has no lactation experience.
