Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for sustained efforts to optimize social governance in the new era, comprehensively deepen reforms and substantially improve people's livelihood.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), made the remarks in a speech to the central conference on political and legal work held in Beijing Tuesday and Wednesday.
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Central Committee has prioritized political and legal work for sustainable and healthy economic and social developments, Xi notes.
Xi stresses that law enforcement and judicial work should always center on people's needs and attend to people's feedback, especially in key areas closely related to their vital interests, including environment, food safety, social welfare and so on.
He encourages advanced integration of scientific and technological innovations in areas such as big data and artificial intelligence with judicial work for efficiency, effectiveness and modernization.
In his speech, Xi urges paying close attention to improving the supervision and regulation mechanism for the exercise of power, and resolutely prevent indolent enforcement, judicial injustice and corruption.
