Zlatan Ibrahimovic played his 8th full 90-minute game and scored his 12th goal in Major League Soccer for the first 15 games of this season. One score on target and one assist made by the 36-year-old Swede striker helped LA Galaxy come from behind to beat Philadelphia Union 3-1 in the rain, on Saturday night in the Talen Energy Stadium.
Midway through the first half, CJ Sapong broke a scoreless drought for the Union, netting his first goal since April with a redirection of a Borek Dockal cross.
Ibrahimovic’s winner came in the 63rd minute, on a great cutback move and feed from halftime sub Romain Alessandrini, after the Swedish star set up the equalizer earlier with a clever through ball to Ola Kamara.
Michael Ciani iced the win with an 82nd-minute goal as the Galaxy extended their unbeaten streak to seven and winning streak to three.
