China's Defense Ministry says the nations's second aircraft carrier is now undergoing equipment debugging, outfitting and mooring trials as planned.

The Type 001A is China's first domestically made aircraft carrier, with a deck as big as 3 football fields. It was launched from a Dalian shipyard in the northeast Liaoning Province in April this year more than three years after initial work on the vessel began. Now, there are about 3,000 construction workers that continue to work on it.
