HBO is latest victim of cybercrime.

US cable channel HBO said that hackers have stolen upcoming programming, but did not say exactly what was taken.

However, the "Entertainment Weekly" magazine reported that the theft included a script for an unaired episode of one of HBO's biggest hits, "Game of Thrones".

"There has been a cyber incident directed at the company which has resulted in some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming," said HBO chairman Richard Pepler in a statement to staff.

HBO declined to comment on reports that unbroadcast episodes and scripts were among the data hacked, saying only that an investigation by law enforcement officials was ongoing.

"Entertainment Weekly" said the hackers made off with 1.5 terabytes of data, and that untransmitted episodes of "Ballers" and "Room 104" had already been posted online.

Reuters also received an email from a person claiming to be in possession of stolen HBO data, including "Game of Thrones" material.
