Madagascar's Defense Minister Beni Xavier Rasolofonirina visited the 25th Chinese escort naval fleet at the port of Tamatave on Sunday.
He welcomed the fleet and highly commended its advanced weaponry and the well-trained soldiers.
Fleet commander Zhao Jicheng and Political Commissar Yang Zhiliang showed Rasolofonirina around the fleet. Representatives from both countries exchanged gifts, and watched traditional Chinese artistic performances together.
Rasolofonirina said that this is the first time the 25th Chinese escort naval fleet visited Tamatave, the largest port in Madagascar, noting that it is a sign of good relationship. Enhancing friendship and cooperation is the common aspiration for both countries.
The Chinese escort naval fleet, which has just finished its four-month mission in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters, arrived in Madagascar for a five-day visit on May 12.
