Delegates in Beijing say they've seen an improvement in China's international influence, adding that the country has made significant contributions to global peace and development. Setting up the guide to action for Chinese diplomats in the new era, General Secretary Xi Jinping's new vision of China's diplomacy is considered to have far-reaching implications for human development and progress.

 

XI JINPING, GENERAL SECRETARY CPC CENTRAL COMMITTEE "The dream of the Chinese people is closely connected with the dream of the peoples of other countries, the Chinese Dream can be realized only in a peaceful international environment and under a stable international order. We must keep in mind both our internal and international imperatives, stay on the path of peaceful development, and continue to pursue a mutually beneficial strategy of opening up. We will uphold justice while pursuing shared interests, and will foster new thinking on common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security. We will pursue open, innovative, and inclusive development that benefits everyone, boost cross-cultural exchanges characterized by harmony within diversity, inclusiveness, and mutual learning, and cultivate ecosystems based on respect for nature and green development. China will continue its efforts to safeguard world peace, contribute to global development, and uphold international order."

 

China has pursued the Belt and Road Initiative, proposed the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, set up the Silk Road Fund, and hosted the First Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. It also hosted the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, the G20 2016 Summit in Hangzhou, the BRICS Summit in Xiamen, and the Fourth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. This has all come during General Secretary Xi Jinping's time as leader.

 

CHEN LINJING, DELEGATE 19TH CPC NATIONAL CONGRESS "There have been many important diplomatic events held in China, this indicates that China follows the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and cooperation in engaging in global governance, and the open and inclusive principle of planning together, building together and benefiting together."

 

Some delegates said there are growing uncertainties and destabilizing factors worldwide, but China always sticks to promoting trade and investment liberalization, and making economic globalization more open, inclusive, and balanced.
