Rio Carnival: Sambadrome rehearsals begin as Brazilian city gears up for annual event

The Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro is gearing up for its annual Carnival parade. Drummers, dancers and revellers, filled the iconic Sambadrome on Sunday for technical rehearsals. The event is considered to be the biggest carnival in the world, and is expected to draw more than a million people. Carnival festivities officially kick off later this week on Friday.
