More Olympics as the torch relay in South Korea ventured indoors yesterday where sanitation workers were honoured with the Olympic flame's presence as part of the "Relay For Everyone" program. The aim of the initiative is to give every Koreans the chance to be part of the relay.
Refuse collectors in the city of Incheon were given the opportunity to get their hands on an Olympic torch and to be part of the Olympic festivities. The workers were given a short presentation on the relay, played a rousing game of indoor curling, then headed outside to get their chance to lift the torch.
A home for the elderly, a hospital for disabled veterans, and a job training centre for people with learning disabilities are among the stops that the 'Relay For Everyone' has made. The Olympic flame will reach its final destination on the 9th of February, when it will light the cauldron at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang.
