Taste of Hong Kong unites East with West

On the Victoria Harbor waterfront in Hong Kong SAR, a sumptuous feast is being laid out for a gathering of the city's topnotch food establishments. 
The Taste of Hong Kong, set to last four days until Sunday, is open in Central District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island. Inaugurated last year, the annual event is asserting its dominance in the local food scene.
This year, 16 of the city's best restaurants, six of which are decorated with Michelin stars, have sent their chefs, a quarter more than at the event’s first edition. Compared with last year, the spread on display has become more diverse and varied. 
In addition to Hong Kong’s traditional Cantonese cuisine, the festival also boasts a strong presence of dishes from France, Spain, Mexico, Japan and Indonesia.

The Taste of Hong Kong also gives locals and tourists the chance to witness how the delectable dishes are created, as a number of chefs choose to prepare and cook their ingredients in full view of an eager audience.
But the most attractive highlight of the event is its affordable pricing. More than half of the dishes on offer have individual prices less than 100 HK dollars, or just under 13 US dollars.
