Security is tight in Manila, as it prepares to host ASEAN leaders for Saturday's summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Just ahead of the meeting however, Philippine security forces clashed with local terror group Abu Sayyaf, in the country’s central region, where the bloc's trade ministers are set to meet.
The security concerns underscore the threat of terrorism and piracy in the region. It will be the first time that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte host a major diplomatic gathering.
