The Russian Olympic Committee has confirmed that 111 Russian athletes were not included on the list of participants for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
Among those who were included, are short track speed-skating star Victor An, Olympic champion biathlete Anton Shipulin, and world champion skier Sergei Ustyugov. The vice president of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, said the three sportsmen have never been implicated in any type of doping affair and will send the International Olympic Committee a letter requesting the specific reasons why their team leaders were not included on the list.
