The Iranian government says a further seven people suspected of involvement in this week's attacks in the capital Tehran are now under custody. Authorities arrested the seven for providing support for the militants. They are under detention in Fardis, about 50 kilometers west of the capital.

The arrest of 41 other suspects was announced on Friday. The arrests were made in different provinces with the aid of security forces and suspects’ families.

At least 17 people were killed and 52 others injured in the twin suicide bombings and gun attacks on the parliament building and the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini on Wednesday.
