US stocks closed lower on Thursday as investors show concerns about a possible government shutdown. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.37 percent. The S&P 500 dropped 0.16 percent. And the Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.03%. Industrials and interest rate sensitive sectors suffered and their losses offset gains in tech stocks. The possibility of a US government shutdown also loomed in Europe, where indices of separate markets closed mixed. The British FTSE 100 closed down 0.41 percent. The French CAC 40 edged down 0.19 percent. And the German DAX rose 0.62 percent.
