India's Ministry of Labour and Employment says that about 10 million youngsters enter the country's labor market every year and new jobs are needed. The government has started an initiative to create 100 million new jobs by 2022 and some Chinese companies are helping by shifting to manufacturing in India.
Chander Kumar is a happy man as his struggle for finding a job has ended. Now he can support his family and fulfill his dreams. He works as a production inspector for Haier, a Chinese company of home appliances, which recently expanded its manufacturing operations.

Chinese companies in the western of Maharashtra are employing youngsters like Kumar. Haier has set manufacturing units for all home appliances creating around 2,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect employees.

With rising demand more manufacturing units like these will be inaugurated here as India is a key market.
ZHENG XIYUAN CONSUL GENERAL OF CHINA Pune is an important manufacturing base and has made rapid progress in recent years. It has become a vanguard of industrialization in all India. Chinese-funded enterprises are actively involved in manufacturing. Currently, there are over 15 Chinese-funded enterprises in Pune that provide direct employment. There are 4,000 jobs and several large-scale Chinese-funded projects are under construction. It is estimated that there will be 4,000 new jobs in 2018.
Despite the state governments making the investment process easy for companies, the growth in employment has been sluggish. Many still waiting in queues to be employed as the rate of unemployment has increased by 1.2 percent in the last five years.
