In Paris, the River Seine has shown a slight increase overnight, and is expected to hit a peak on Sunday night.
More than 650 people have been forced to leave their homes across the French capital. Several museums including the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay, have been on high alert, with parts of the Louvre already closed.
Residents of Villeneuve Saint Georges, a suburb 23 kilometers to the south of Paris, are greatly affected, with some areas only accessible by boat. Authorities have warned the floods may be worse than ones in 2016.
