A UN World Food Programme (WFP) chartered plane crash-landed in Garbaherey town in the Gedo region of southern Somalia on Saturday, Xinhua News Agency reported citing WFP spokesperson Amor Almagro.
Almagro said that the medium-size aircraft crashed with four crew members on board who are all unharmed, but the plane sustained significant damage.
The aircraft was carrying food for over 2,300 children as part of drought relief efforts.
The cause of the incident is still unknown.
